'Just Gorgeous' was an exhibition of contemporary craft held at An Tobar arts centre, Tobermory.

I was asked to produce the promotional material for the show, the brief was 'Pink, Gold & Feminine'.

As the show was featuring many different crafts (ceramics, metalwork, textiles, basketry and more) I didn't want to focus on one particular item from the exhibition for the promotional material.  So I chose a handbag as a motif and it proved to be very popular.  It featured on posters, flyers and tshirts as well as having a 3 foot high fluorescent pink handbag in the window of Catriona's hair & Beauty Salon (sponsor of the exhibition).

Invites for the opening night were handmade 3D pink handbags in gold envelopes which, to everyone's dismay, were never seen again after being posted.  Somewhere in the world there are 50 golden envelopes waiting to be found.

Despite this setback, there was a huge turnout on the opening night.  Everyone wore pink and drank pink drinks and ate pink cakes. . . . . and looked at the exhibits.
